Vaelinel Trilogy continues with this absorbing sequel to Silevethiel! Alone and
hunted by the Drulaack, Irewen takes advantage of her only option for survival.
Pushing her concerns aside, she lets the dead keep her.
But her refuge doesn't
last long. Driven out of their hosts by Laegon, a handful Drulaack have
returned to the Spirit World. No longer having the protection of the dead,
Irewen is forced to return to Vaelinel.
Finally reunited with
her companions, the burdens placed on them are taking their toll. Thoughts of
suicide and mistrust plague the company. Slowly unravelling, they must conquer
their personal battles before standing against the evil threatening the land.
For the Corrupter
thirsts for revenge. And he'll stop at nothing to satisfy his hunger.

EXCERPTS:
Irewen
narrowed her eyelids, fully aware of his nervous tension. “There is something
else you haven’t told me.”
He
didn’t answer.
“Tell
me, Laegon. I can’t help you properly if I don’t know all of the facts.”
“Halthed
and Perendin aren’t the only ones who came in contact with my Sight,” he
whispered, refusing to meet her gaze. The large silence that fell between them
before he finished his thought lasted long enough to put anyone on edge. By the
time he finally spoke again, Irewen’s pulse was racing. “I also used my Sight
to find you.”
The
blood drained from her face. “What?”
“I
didn’t know!” Laegon screamed defensively. His eyes shot up to meet hers. Once
again, they appeared wild and crazed. “We barely knew there was a problem! I
had no idea it could be transmitted and never fathomed that using my Sight
would be so dangerous. With the Drulaack hunting you, we needed to find you as
quickly as we could. There wasn’t an option! If I’d known then that I would
pass this on to you, I’d have left it to Silevethiel alone to find you!”
“Calm
down, Laegon,” Irewen interrupted. “I’m not blaming you, nor am I angry. I haven’t
yet noticed any changes or difficulties in my perception. Perhaps I won’t be
affected like you and the others. We’re all learning. None of us knows the
answers. Especially me. There’s no need to become defensive.”
Laegon
nodded and took hold of her hands, squeezing them tightly.
“Now,”
Irewen said once she felt him relax. “Tell me everything that happened since
your fight with the Drulaack in Silverden. Go slowly. Tell me as many details
as you can remember.”
“This
will take a while.”
“I
have nowhere else to be.” Silevethiel’s presence in her mind strengthened. The
Dame was listening. “Take as much time as you need.”
