Her Perfect Game (Hot & Nerdy #2)
Release Date: 10/27/14
Kensington Books
112 pages

 Summary from Goodreads:
Spring break is supposed to be a week of fun in the sun for three childhood friends about to graduate from college. But one of them is ready to get her game on somewhere else…

Charlie Castle is an expert archer and a fierce warrior—in her favorite video game, anyway. But college life was a program she couldn't quite master. To land a cybertech job without a degree, she's entering a "hackfest" over spring break—where she also hopes to meet the sweet gamer who's been flirting with her online. Instead, she runs into the hot guy who walked away years ago, and can't fight the desire that comes rushing back.

Jonah Best has never gotten over Charlie, whose kisses were always as deliciously creative as her coding. But now that they're face to face again, he doesn't know how to admit that her online admirer is really him—or how to convince her that he's offering her a job for her incredible skills, not her sex appeal. Can Jonah cut through their communication glitches and persuade Charlie that the next level up for them should be forever?

About the Author
Shannyn is a former English teacher, who now works as a part-time editor while raising her three kids.

Even though she wrote from high school through college (mostly poetry), she’d never considered a career as an author. Writing fell by the wayside as she focused her energy on creating lesson plans and new and fabulous ways to torment her teen students. One group in particular dubbed her “The Torture Master,” a title she carried into motherhood.
After the birth of baby number two, Shannyn resigned from teaching and fell in love with reading romance novels. She read so many books so quickly that her husband teased, “If you’re going to read so many damn books, why don’t you just write one?”

So she did.

Interview with Jonah Best from Her Perfect Game
By: Shannyn Schroeder

Shannyn: Thanks for stopping by today, Jonah.

Jonah: Thanks for having me, but you just interrupted my game and my partner is getting herself into a bit of trouble, as usual.

Shannyn: We’ll keep this brief, then. Things between you and Charlie were pretty serious three years ago, but you up and left her. What was that all about?

Jonah: Go straight for the hard questions, why don’t you? Three years ago, Charlie was a hot mess. She was so focused on getting revenge on her roommate’s ex-boyfriend, she almost couldn’t see anything else. She’s an excellent hacker and quick learner. And I fell head over heels for her. But she was letting all the crap eat away at her. No matter how much I tried to persuade her to back off and focus on living her life, she wouldn’t listen. It was like she was in self-destruct mode and I didn’t know how to save her. I couldn’t stay around and watch, so when I graduated, it seemed like the best time to move on.

Shannyn: While understandable, it was still kind of a douche-y thing to do.

Jonah: No argument there. I never stopped thinking about Charlie, though. When I discovered she was playing a game that I helped create, I joined her guild so I could play alongside her.

Shannyn: So you were cyber-stalking her?

Jonah: No, it wasn’t like that at all. I found her playing the game and at first I just wanted to check on her to see how she was doing.

Shannyn: So you told her who you were.

Jonah: Well, no. I had a feeling it would piss her off, and I was having a blast just hanging out with her again. Like old times. Seeing her at the con made me realize that I had to come clean and tell her who I was.

Shannyn: I have to say, Jonah, you’re not making a strong case for yourself. If I were Charlie’s friend, I think I would tell her to stay away.

Jonah: Charlie’s not the kind of girl to do what she’s told. She’s too strong for that. It’s one of the many things I admire most about her.

Shannyn: So I hear that you offered Charlie a job working with you. Was that your grand plan to get back into her good graces?

Jonah: I’d like to think that I’d get into Charlie’s good graces no matter what because we love each other, but no, I didn’t have any ulterior motives in wanting to hire her. If she never wanted to see me outside of work, I would’ve respected that. I wanted to hire her because she’s one of the best hackers I’ve met. She attacks a problem like her life depends on it. And her love of a game I helped create didn’t hurt. Having her on my team will make the gaming experience better for everyone, but especially the female players. It’s just a bonus that I get to work side by side with my favorite girl gamer.

Shannyn: One last question before you run off to play a game. You gave Charlie a special gift when you apologized. Can you tell us a little about it?

Jonah: Sure. In the game Charlie and I play together, The Order or Resskaar, my character Win gave her an amulet after one of their missions. I wanted to replicate it in real life. The necklace is a Celtic knot and in the center is a claddagh. It’s an Irish symbol for love, loyalty, and friendship. As I told Charlie, she’s the best of all those things for me.
